Why In Person Therapy in Sittingbourne, Kent Can Be a Powerful Choice (and Why you Still Have Online Options)

When you're looking for therapy, one of the first practical questions is whether to meet in person or online. Both can be genuinely effective, and I offer both - but there are some real benefits to in-person sessions that are worth knowing about before you decide.

Stepping out of your everyday environment

When you're looking for therapy, one of the first practical questions is whether to meet in person or online. Both can be genuinely effective, and I offer both - but there are some real benefits to in-person sessions that are worth knowing about before you decide.

What in-person sessions pick up that online can't quite match

Therapy works well over video call - plenty of my clients do all their sessions that way, and it suits their lives better. But being in the same room does make it easier to notice the smaller things: a shift in posture, a pause that says more than the words around it, the moment something lands. None of that disqualifies online work, but it's part of why some people prefer to start in person, especially for deeper trauma work like EMDR, where being able to read the room in real time can help.

Local, but not limited to local

I work with people from Sittingbourne and right across Kent - Maidstone, Faversham, Rochester, the Medway towns, and beyond. If you're nearby, coming in person means specialist support close to home, without losing the option to switch to online sessions when travelling, unwell, or just short on time makes that easier.

Many clients end up using a mix: starting in person to build that initial sense of trust and connection, then moving to online sessions, or the reverse. There's no rule that says you have to pick one and stick with it.

Which is right for you?

There isn't a universal answer - it depends on what feels right, what's practical for your week, and sometimes what you're working through. If you're not sure, that's a completely normal place to start from. It's something we can talk through together in a free 15-minute consultation, with no pressure either way.

Whether it's face-to-face in Sittingbourne or online from wherever you are, the important thing is finding a space where you feel safe, heard, and able to be honest about what's really going on.
