Therapy for Professionals Who Are Tired of
Doubting Themselves

Dean Watkins - CBT Therapist working with self-doubt, anxiety, low confidence and feeling like a fraud

Despite your achievements you still find yourself struggling with self-doubt and feeling like you are need to do more or better.

You second-guess your decisions, replay conversations, battle your inner critic, and hold yourself to standards that somehow always feel just out of reach.

You've probably tried to think your way out of it. To reason with yourself, push through, or just get on with it.

But the questioning keeps coming back - and somewhere underneath all of that is a quieter frustration: why do I still feel like this, when I'm doing everything right?

This isn't a character flaw. It's a pattern - and it can change.

Therapy for High-Achieving Professionals Struggling with Anxiety, self-Doubt & Overwhelm

It feels like there might be something wrong with you, however this isn't a character flaw. It's a pattern - and it can change.

I work with thoughtful, capable adults who are stuck in cycles of anxiety, self-doubt, and self-criticism. Whether that shows up as feeling like an imposter at work, perfectionism, emotional overwhelm, a difficult past that still shapes your present, or simply the feeling that you're not quite living the life you want - therapy can help you make sense of it and move forward.

How Therapy Can Help You Feel More Like Yourself Again

From Where You Are...

Man struggling with Imposter syndrome

Constantly Battling Self-Doubt and Stress?

Do you find yourself:

  • Worrying you'll be "found out" or exposed as a fraud?
  • Setting high standards but feeling you’re always falling short?
  • Replaying conversations and decisions endlessly?
  • Struggling to relax or switch off - even when you're supposed to be resting?
  • Feeling like you're barely holding it all together?

These thoughts and feelings can be exhausting and isolating.

...to Where You Want to Be

Feel Confident, Calm, and In Control

Imagine a life where you:

  • Trust yourself and your decisions without overthinking.
  • Feel confident and clear, able to relax and recharge.
  • Enjoy life without constant worry or second-guessing.
  • Embrace opportunities freely, without self-doubt holding you back.

Therapy provides the support, insight, and practical tools to help you bridge this gap. It’s a safe space to understand what's holding you back and to confidently build the life you truly want.

How Therapy Helps You Move Forward

I use a simple, four-step framework that helps you understand your patterns, build new skills, and move toward a more confident, balanced life.

  • 1. Awareness - Noticing the Pattern

See what’s really happening beneath the surface - your triggers, thoughts, emotions, and habits - so the problem becomes clearer and more workable.

  • 2. Understanding - Making Sense of It

Learn how the mind and body respond to stress, anxiety, and self-doubt.
You’ll start to see that your reactions make sense - and that change is possible.

  • 3. Skills - Responding Differently

Develop practical tools to steady yourself, calm the inner critic, and work with difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them.

  • 4. Action - Living in Line With What Matters

    Turn insight into action.
Clarify your values, take meaningful steps forward, and build patterns that support confidence, balance, and self-trust.

This approach works across the range of things that bring people to therapy - from anxiety and imposter syndrome to trauma and PTSD. For clients where past experiences are at the root of current struggles, I also offer EMDR therapy, a powerful evidence-based approach for processing difficult memories and releasing their hold on the present.
