Therapy for Anxiety, Self-Doubt, Overthinking and Perfectionism

You're not broken. You're stuck in a pattern, and patterns can change.

Maybe you can't switch your brain off. You replay conversations, second-guess decisions, worry about getting things wrong or put enormous pressure on yourself.

You might know, rationally, that you're capable, yet still find yourself wondering whether you've done enough, said the wrong thing, made the right decision or somehow been found wanting.

After a while, it gets exhausting.

Therapy can help you make sense of why this keeps happening, understand what keeps the pattern going, and find different ways of responding when anxiety or self-doubt shows up.

How Change Happens

Over 20 years of working with anxiety and self-doubt, I've developed a four-stage approach that brings together the best of CBT, ACT, CFT and EMDR:

1. Awareness

Seeing the pattern clearly: what triggers it, how you respond, what it's costing you.

3. Skills

Practical tools to respond differently to difficult thoughts and feelings, not fight them.

2. Understanding

Making sense of why your mind does this. You're not broken - you're stuck, and there's a reason.

4. Action

Living in line with what matters to you, not what your fear dictates.

This approach works across the range of things that bring people to therapy - from anxiety and self-doubt to trauma and PTSD. Where past experiences are at the root of current struggles, I also offer EMDR therapy, a powerful evidence-based approach for processing difficult memories.

Curious whether this approach could help you?

Meet The Therapist

If you're reading this, something probably isn't sitting right. Maybe you've been managing for a long time - working harder, thinking more, trying to stay on top of it - but it's not getting easier. And somewhere underneath all of that, there's a quieter question: why do I feel like this, when I'm doing everything right?

I'm Dean, a psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience in mental health. I specialise in helping thoughtful, capable people understand what's keeping them stuck - and build a different relationship with their thoughts, feelings, and sense of self.

I work with anxiety, self-doubt, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, and trauma. My approach draws on CBT, ACT, CFT, and EMDR, integrated in a way that's tailored to you - not a fixed programme, but a responsive, collaborative process.

You can work with me in-person in Sittingbourne, Kent or online across the UK.
